(ENDED) Picture Keeper Review and Giveaway
I am so excited about this product. It is uncomplicated and simple to use. The Picture Keeper is a flash drive of sorts that saves photos. I am very impressed with this product. About Picture Keeper: When a close friend lost all of her digital images during a lightning storm, inspiration struck Matthew Stanchie. With a background in technology, and as a father of two young children himself, he felt for the young mother who lost every image she had ever taken of
her 2-year-old son. He thought that there should be a simple, fool-proof way to backup digital images, so he created Picture Keeper.
Stanchie has held positions at Hewlett-Packard, IBM and GE, where he helped develop IT solutions for everyday consumers. He developed a standard approach for troubleshooting any type of computer problem, which always involved an external backup of data and images before he began. He took this initial step to ensure the safety of clients’ personal data in case the issue couldn’t be resolved. After 15 years in this line of work, he had a keen understanding of how and where image backups were being used. So, he partnered with a co-worker from Hewlett-Packard who specialized in data backup, Lee Devlin, and they began to develop Picture Keeper. They developed the program so that users need only plug the device into their computer and hit one button, which finds and copies all of their images onto a USB flash drive. Simplicity was key, since they knew that most consumers’ concerns were over the timely and taxing process of finding images on a computer. The Picture Keeper program makes it equally easy to update a backup by finding only new images since the last backup and adding those images to the flash drive. From experience, Stanchie and Devlin knew if it wasn’t simple, people wouldn’t use it. Since launching Picture Keeper in 4GB and 8GB sizes in 2008, hundreds have sold nationwide directly from the manufacturer to consumers. A 16GB version will be released in Fall 2009.

I would need the 16 gig because the camera I use has high resolution and in order to get a good picture, I have to be at the highest and it creates a large file.
