(ENDED) Peter Potty Review and Giveaway

peterpotty1The Peter Potty toddler urinal is a new innovative product designed especially for boys. The Peter Potty is amazing. No need for step stools, the urinal is adjustable in height for your little guy, easy to use and can help to encourage good habits. Amazingly, preliminary research says that the Peter Potty can help to reduce potty training time by 6-15 months.

At Visionaire Products Inc., we are committed to designing and manufacturing world class products. Visionaire Products was founded in 2004 by Marcia Hauflaire, a woman with an idea, and Design Integrity, a group of designers who could bring that idea to life.

In 2005, the Peter Potty Toddler Urinal was launched in the United States. It immediately won the hearts of consumers and advocates alike. In addition to winning prestigious awards such as the iParenting Hot Winner Award, it was also featured on HGTV’s I Want That!.

In 2006, Diane Hund became President of Visionaire Products. With her vast knowledge of consumer products and marketing strategy, she continues to push the Peter Potty brand to the forefront of the potty training category. She continues to leverage the unique capabilities of the organization – that of combining consumer-driven market insight with rapid and innovative product development.

Just recently, the Toddler Urinal received an endorsement from the Pediatric Planet, a group of board certified pediatricians, who agree that ’standing up’ provides significant benefits for training little guys. In addition, research conducted both by Visionaire Products as well as by a third party show that potty training with the Peter Potty Toddler Urinal achieves success at a younger age – anywhere from 2 to 6 months faster than traditional sit-down training methods.

Today, the Peter Potty Toddler Urinal has been successfully used by thousands of ‘little stand up guys’.

Visionaire Products, Inc will continue to bring innovative products to the market – products that are based on strong consumer insights and products that help make the potty training process easier for the child and for the trainer. We get our input from users, educators and pediatricians all around the world. If you would like to be part of our “Potty Panel”, please send an email with “Potty Panel” in the subject bar to feedback@visionaireproducts.com.

Here is the video from Peter Potty showing what the Peter Potty is all about.

peterpottyMy little guy is a bit young but I have still introduced him to the Peter Potty so as not to be afraid when the actual training time begins. However, I do have a little cousin who has used it several times (he is nearly potty trained but wanted to have him give it a try to see his reaction). He loved it and took to it like ducks to water. He loved flushing it and had no trouble using it. The one thing I think is so wonderful about this is that it eliminates having to retrain a boy to stand when he is tall enough for the toilet and no more mess around the toilet. I so wish I had this product when my 18yo boy was learning to go potty. I can remember turning him backwards on the toilet to reduce the mess. Never worked, lol. I thought of showing you a video but thought I would probably be arrest for child pornography so below is my very brief overview of how the Peter Potty works.

The Peter Potty is so simple to put together. Here is a pic to show you what it looks like out of the box.

Many boys start potty training outside on a tree, wall or fence.

    I thought that was “interesting.”

Pick a potty training product that is stable and secure. Also, look for a product that appeals to your child, yet is still easy to clean. Remember that pieces with more complicated designs can be more complicated to clean!

Good tip: A child’s behavior needs to be reinforced with lots of praise. One of the easiest things you can do is provide positive reinforcement through hugs, kisses, high-fives and general excitement. Other useful tools may be to use stickers or tickets which can be accumulated for a small toy, a special trip to the park, a ride on a train or even a small piece of candy. Use whatever motivates your child. I have never potty trained and am terrified. This is a great product I’d love to try.

I wish someone would have told me how hard it was and how VERY patient you must be when trying to potty train a boy :-) Your website states “Begin potty training at a time of low stress for your family. A new house, a new baby, daycare or any big changes can create a stressful experience and set you up for failure. Pick a time when you can provide the consistency that is essential to your child’s success.” I should have known this but thought he was ready and started to potty train when we moved, that was 8 months ago. He has now started to again and is having a MUCH more successful attempt at it. He is really liking to “stand up” and this potty is AMAZING and would be a VERY good thing for my son, and save me from A LOT of mess around the toilet ;-) What a great thing!

Being a single mom it is a challenge to get my little boy to stand — it just doesn’t make sense to him. This would be perfect.

From the website I learned: it can be placed directly on the floor if needed. NO base or mounting required!! horay!

While most young boys have seen male role models use a urinal in a public facility, it may help to have another male stand and use a toilet or Peter Potty in front of your child. This will show him that this is a normal body function and not scary in any way. Your little guy will feel cool standing like his daddy, not sitting like a girl.

I learned that my son should understand the terms wet and potty before he is ready to potty train. He definitely understands potty. He says “Pa. Pa.” every time he hears someone using the toilet, and makes a mad dash to barge into the bathroom and watch. Which is really awkward when the bathroom user is a guest.

I learned that the best time to start potty training is a time when no other stressful things are happening.

This is so great. It will be a big help for all those parents teaching their little boys how to potty train. I would love to win this.

Reevaluate if your child is ready to train. All children learn at their own rate and that no two children train in the exact same way or at the same age. If your child is not ready, the experience can turn into a negative experience for both the child and parents.

I became a fan of Peter Potty’s Facebook page.

While most young boys have seen male role models use a urinal in a public facility, it may help to have another male stand and use a toilet or Peter Potty in front of your child. This will show him that this is a normal body function and not scary in any way. lol
