There were over 47 million votes this week. The theme this week was Rat Pack Standards and the mentor was Jaime Foxx. It is getting harder now to decide which singer is the best. For once, I think America finally got it right. I believe Allison and Danny should have been in the top two. Their performance was wonderful. As a matter of fact I think Danny did the best. Adam did great but it was nothing stellar. I am not fond of Kris and I definitely think Matt did the worst. It was only a matter of time before he was sent home anyways. It is getting down to the wire. How is your favorite pick now (compared to who you were routing for at the beginning)?

I know that we all know the usual signs of strep, but strep bacteria can also effect other parts of our bodies. So if you should see any of these signs you should call your MD or pediatrician right away.

Strep Impetigo – a rash, usually around the nose or mouth. It starts off as red sores that rupture within a few days and form yellowish crusts. Kids get impetigo when bacteria invade a cut in the kin or nasal lining.

Genital Strep- Pimples or a bright-red rash, possible with a white coating, in the genital area. When strep throat or impetigo is going around, kids can spread the bacteria below the belt. Anal strep causes painful bowel movements, and your child might complain of a sore bottom. Vaginal strep makes urinating painful.

Scarlet Fever- A red, sandpapery rash on the torso (it usually shows up in the groin and underarms) that’s caused by the toxins produced by strep bacteria. Scarlet fever may accompany strep throat.

Again, if you think you suspect any of these symptoms please go to the doctor right away!

Here is my recipe – when I was younger I used to be a bartender and loved it. This is when a customer asked me to create this margarita for me. They are so yummy and smooth.

Grand Marnier Margarita (Drink and Marinade)

Drink:

• 2 oz. Jose Cuervo Especial tequila
• 1/2 oz. Grand Marnier
• 2 oz. lime juice
• coarse salt for the rim of the glass

Pour all ingredients over ice into a tall mixing glass, shake briskly and then strain into a chilled margarita glass with salted rim (optional). Garnish with a lime.

Marinade:

• 6 oz. Jose Cuervo Especial tequila
• 1 1/2 oz. Grand Marnier
• 6 oz. lime juice
• Chicken or Shrimp

Place your chicken or shrimp into bowl. Pour marinade mix over chicken/shrimp and let marinade. You choose the time – the longer the stronger the flavor. The cook as you would like but the bar-b-que is best.
