Sand Fantasy
Ilana Yahav is a world renown sand animation artist. Using only her fingers, Ilana draws with sand on a glass table. The art of “Sand Fantasy” was created for certain song lyrics and themes. Some of the clip messages are presented as a story created by sand. The Sand Art clip is not only created as a song’s main message and spirit, but is also synchronized with the rhythm and music.

OMG I’ve never seen anything like that. WOW it was incredible. When I think of Sand art I think of the extrememes, from camp crafts for kids to the Tibetan Monk Sand Artists who take months to complete, then they just wipe it away. As extraordinary as these works of art are they work with many different colors of sand and tools and more than one artist. This sand animation is just as extraordinary and beautiful and complex, yet so simple. It’s amazing. Thanks for sharing, I’ll be passing this along.

I’ve never seen animated Sand Art before or knew there was such a thing. I have a Pepsi bottle layered with colored sand my son gave me in grade school. That is the extent of my sand art knowledge, but this is amazing. She really tells a story. And beautifully too.

All I can say is WOW, like everyone else I think this is amazing. I wonder how she learned it. Can it be taught? Is it a cultural thing? I wonder how it started. Guess I’m on way over to Wikipedia. You sure do share some interesting topics. Thanks!!!

I’ve never heard of this either. The only sand art I ever saw was when the kids made bottles at the fair for me. This is awesome!
