Dentyne Blog Smog

peppermintThe tale of a modern day epidemic! Dentyne has  just released a short animated film poking fun at blogger stereotypes (mostly about how we sit alone staring at computers all day).  Given how much time everyone spends online, we think the story will make people smile. The film is part of Dentyne’s Make Face Time campaign reminding everyone to take breaks from technology and spend more time together in real life.

Exergen Temporal Scanner

exergenlogoAbout Exergen: “The TemporalScanner Thermometer is a totally non-invasive system with advanced infrared technology providing maximum ease of use with quick, consistently accurate measurements. Advanced, patented technology measures temperatures with a gentle stroke across the forehead.”

Since October is seems as if my kids have gotten every bug that is out there from ear infections to the flu to simple colds. Along withexergen most of these illnesses come fevers. I hated waking up my little ones to take their fevers, especially in the middle of the night. When I was given the opportunity to review the EXERGEN TemporalScanner I was so thrilled. A chance to take their temps and not wake them up. How awesome is that! I have to laugh at myself and I will tell you why. Quite often while testing the scanner I would forget to remove the cover. So I would get a reading of 94 to 95 degrees. I would then freak out for a moment and then remember ‘Duh, the cover’, lol. I compared against and oral thermometer a ton of times and the EXERGEN TemporalScanner compared very well. Only off by 1-3 tenths of a degree. It does take a bit of getting used to how it works but once you adjust the scanner is very easy to use.

I would definitely recommend the EXERGEN TemporalScanner to friends and family. It is a little pricey but well worth the price when compared to no waking a sick, sleeping child. I wish I had this when my previous 4 children were tiny.

BUY: To purchase the EXERGEN TemporalScanner, click here for a list of retailers. You can also get a $5.00 mail-in rebate after purchasing the TemporalScanner. Just visit the EXERGEN website to download the rebate coupon.

(ENDED) Designs Are Unique Giveaway

About Designs Are Unique: Debbie has been involved in beading since she was young, and is self taught. She has tried to learn different types of stitch and weaves, incorporating crystals, shells, seed beads and sterling. Over the last 2 years, Debbie has been learning different styles of wire wrapping. Her goal is to some day become a master wrapper. She is also seeking classes in Lampworking, so that she may be able to create her own focal beads for her jewelery. Debbie does have a website in the works.

I had a chance to see Debbie’s beautiful creations first hand. They are exquisite. Her items are only made with high quality findings – sterling silver, high quality lampwork beads, Swarovski crystals, etc. Debbie’s Itty Bitty line of jewelry is just adorable. They are a delicate version of her regular line of jewelry. Maybe you want  to dress up just a little. Then these are the perfect pieces for you. You would not be disappointed with anything Debbie has to offer. Here are a few of her other designs:

Small Talk Six

smalltalksix175

Today’s topic is the “6 things you would like to do naked if you lived alone” You can answer this with a list of 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 sentences, 6 paragraphs, 6 photos, 6 videos, etc . . .

Here are my six . . .

I have never lived alone, ever. So not sure what I would do. Since my surgeries I am really not that comfortable being naked (even alone) but here it goes.

1. I guess sleeping is a good first choice

2. Maybe I might give it a try cooking

3. Reading a good book (because hey, I am alone and would finally have time to read, lol).

4. Oh, how about sun bathing (no tan lines)

5. I might give it a try dancing around the house while doing some cleaning.

6. Curl up on the couch watching a good movie.

Want to join in? Go here to learn how and to view the weekly list Small Talk Six topics for 2009.

Now go post your own list on your blog (remember to grab a button at MomDot) and then leave the direct link to your post on Here. Then please go and check out everyone else’s Small Talk Six lists and don’t forget to leave them a comment so they know you stopped by.

American Idol – Week 3

ai-logo1Week 3 was all about Motown. All the idols came to Detroit and worked with Smokey Robinson. I thought most of the idols did fairly well but I did not agree with America’s vote (over 36 million). I thought Matt was one of the best and he was in the bottom 3. Whereas, I thought Megan was horrible  – yet she was safe. What is America thinking? Even though Matt is from my state I still think the front runner is Adam. So far I think this round is going to be the most difficult. There is alot of talent.
