Enough is Enough!
In the past 4 months my 3 youngest have had 14 ear infections, the flu, bronchitis, a strange cough and countless numbers of runny noses. So I finally took them all to an ENT.
Final Diagnosis: All 3 are to get ear tubes in both ears.
On Monday, we all went (like an assembly line) and had their tubes placed. You would think that the worst was over. NO WAY! My 10 month old starts to run a fever that afternoon – 101.7. Yesterday morning it is 102.3. So I call the ENT and take him in to be checked.
Final Diagnosis: Doesn’t look like his ears but gave him Amoxicillin just in case.
By the afternoon his fever is 105.1. I call the pediatrician and they need to see him. Yes, another trip to the doctor’s office. They check everything. They do a blood count and a rapid flu test.
Final Diagnosis: Some yucky cruddy virus (that is her words verbatim). We wait it out.
His fever was high throughout the night. This morning it was 101.3. So I am thinking he is turning the corner. NO WAY! His fever right now (2:37 pm EST) is 105.3.
I love Motrin and can’t give him that because of the surgery. Tylenol just doesn’t work well enough. He is miserable, whiny and not eating. Who can blame the poor guy.
Please send some well wishes that this goes away quickly.

You poor thing! I’m so sorry for you and I know you need a break. You just want to see your kids happy and healthy like the rest of your friends’ kids. We have never had it THAT bad, but I do know someone who had a fever that high for a couple of days when he was about two. He got meningitis and became deaf. But that was many years ago, and I’m sure your doctor’s are all over it. Hang in there girl! You can do it!

My daughter got tubes when she was one. It was the best thing we ever did! She was so much healthier afterward. Hope your little ones feel better soon.
