Join MomDot’s PR List

prrepMomDot is very fortunate to be contacted by PR reps almost daily and so often they are asked if they know other bloggers they can work with. HELLO! Of COURSE they do! YOU! And to be honest, its so hard to recommend just a few when they are blessed with so many blogging friends.

MomDot knows there are many bloggers that either don’t know where to start, don’t have time to do a ton of marketing, or need exposure for new companies. It’s easy to get lost in the sea of online blogs.

MomDot has created a form for you to fill out where your information is entered into a private system that only PR reps have access to. Then, when they need additional bloggers, they can sign on and get all the links, info on your blog, and contact information in one spot. MomDot hopes this makes it easier for our PR reps to find great bloggers that fit their needs a little easier.

Its win/win!

Please feel free to fill out your blog information here

Read more: “Mom Blogs at MomDot » How do you find a PR Rep?” – http://www.momdot.com/how-do-you-find-a-pr-rep/#ixzz08SrQmpMz. It’s filed into a spreadsheet that is only accessible by MomDot and the PR reps they choose. Your information will never be shared with anyone other then our company contacts.

MomDot hopes you know that they will always do their best to share and create opportunities for new, upcoming, and established bloggers alike!

(ENDED) Nintendo DS Big Bang Mini Review and Giveaway

bbmI received a new game for Nintendo DS called Big Bang Mini. This game is tons of fun. It has beautiful visuals and great music. All my kids play it. However, it is a touch harder for my 4 yo. Her coordination is not quite good enough yet but she is still able to play it. There is an awesome and easy to follow tutorial at the beginning. I was very impressed with the graphics and colors. It grabs your attention. Beware, this game is infectious. There are 9 levels (each with a different theme) with 9 stages in each level. Check out these pictures and you will know what I mean.

Today’s topic is the “6 things that never fail to make you smile” You can answer this with a list of 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 sentences, 6 paragraphs, 6 photos, 6 videos, etc . . .

Here are my six . . .

I have to say that this topic is a hard one. I am usually a very happy person so trying to come up with specifics was difficult.

1. My Five Children (their faces, their smiles, everything)

2. My DH

3. Helping someone (this is very broad but really I love helping people and it does make me smile when I can do something for someone. No matter how big or small. I hope I made sense, lol)

4. A Beautiful Sunset

5. A good bowl of ice cream

6. Most of the time it is the little things that make me smile.

Sikulu & Harambe Book Review

sikulu1

My girls LOVE books, LOVE to be read to and 5yo is learning to read so books are her favorite thing right now. When Parent Reviewers offered me a chance to review Sikulu & Harambe I was so excited. When we got this book my 5yo was totally amazed by it. She kept telling me ‘how beautiful it was’. This book is very easy to read and both girls easily understood it. This has become a nightly bedtime story. I love books that are not only interesting but also teach our kids something without them realizing it. This book taught my girls some things about Africa and now my 5yo tells everyone she knows what she knows from reading Sikulu & Harambe. I plan to purchase more from this author in the futre. I was very impressed!

About Sikulu & Harambe:
This is the first in a series of adventures that follow Sikulu the spider and Harambe the Hippo as they travel to different countries in Africa. In this story, they are in the village of Sioma where they encounter an old woman in need of help. The other animals all have convenient excuses for not helping while Sikulu & Harambe are the only ones who do.

Based on an actual folktale, it is a great story that reinforces the beauty of kindness to young children. The book also offers a glossary of terms and weaves information about Zambian culture into the story. Children and adults alike come away better informed about life in Zambia.

About the Author:
Kunle Oguneye was born and raised in Nigeria. He has lived in the United States for the last thirteen years, spending the last four of those years in the Puget Sound Area. He left a career in technology in order to pursue his love for children’s story-telling.

The Winning Label Daddy Blogher 09 Entry (I hope)

labeldaddy

Well, here is my entry to try and win a trip to BlogHer ‘09 from Label Daddy.

Here is a little about me – I am a Mom to 5 kids. I am also a nurse. Up until my last child was born I was working on the high-risk pregnancy floor at our local hospital. I am a hospice nurse at heart and plan to return to that in a few months. Along with other moms, I consider myself a great mom. My 16yo actually called me the ‘Ultimate Mom’ the other day. Since my 18yo was born I have never left any of my kids for anytime beyond going to work. I would love to be able to go to BlogHer ‘09 to get to help promote an awesome company (by the way I would be willing to plaster myself, and everyone I come in contact with, with labels and walk around during Blogher this way if I won) and actually get to meet (face to face) all of the wonderful blogger ladies I have met over the past year that have helped me so much. I can’t even begin to descibed how much this opportunity means to me.

Ever since I did a review of Label Daddy’s labels I have used them for everything for my children from their coats, water bottles, shoes, gloves, books, etc. There is nothing I haven’t used them for. I have not had one label fail in its job. None peel. None fall off. I have never been so impressed with a product as I am with Label Daddy’s labels.

I am not able to do some of the fancy vlogs that others have created, as I cannot afford the programs that are needed. I don’t have a fancy story but I do have a great idea that I think could make money for Label Daddy. My idea is for our schools. Almost all elementary children go on field trips. They are often given little tags to wear that often fall of and get lost. Wouldn’t it be better to just place a Label Daddy sticker on them that has the teacher’s name, school name and phone number. No getting lost or falling off. There are usually parent chaperones and they are given kids. Another helpful way of using teacher labels are color-coding them. Ms. Smith has the children with green labels, Ms. Jones has the children with blue labels, etc. This would keep our kids safe and easily seen by the chaperones.

 Photobucket

Now remember that this is just an idea. I want you to remember me (pick me). I do hope that I have made an impression (pick me). The picture is of all my children that I live my life for. If I was chosen to represent Label Daddy at BlogHer ‘09 I can guarantee that I would make be an awesome example for Label Daddy and everyone would know your name (in a good way) by the time I left (please pick me).

Thanks Label Daddy for considering me for this extremely wonderful opportunity!

Children’s Snack Ideas – Smoothies

smoothieDo you have a child that gives you a hard time about eating those ‘good for them’ food items? Here are some ideas that they may like and not even know they are eating something that is good. Ever try making them a smoothie? Below are a few recipes that they may like and you will be happy they are getting their protein and fruit without knowing it.

Banana Smoothie

In a blender add 1-2 cups of milk and 1 banana. Blend until smooth. You can also add ice, honey, sugar, or vanilla for added taste and variety.

Berry Smoothie

In a blender add 1-2 cups of milk, 1 cup of frozen berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, etc.). Blend until smooth. For extra protein you can add 1/4 cup yogurt. Since the berries are frozen you do not need to use ice.

Peanut Butter Cup Smoothie

In a blender add 1/2 cup milk, 1 cup yogurt, 2 tsp peanut butter, 1/4 cup chocolate chips and 1/4 cup ice. Blend until smooth. You can also add in 1 banana.

All smoothies should be served immediately for best results. Smoothies are easy to make a are well recieved by kids. They often think it is a treat and will love it more.

Smoothies can be made with soy milk, rice milk, almond milk. It doesn’t have to be cow’s milk.

You can also get creative with the fruit you use. Try oranges, mangoes, blackberries, etc. Try flavored yogurts. You may be surprised what your kids might eat.

Don’t be afraid to experiment!
